Bangkok, Thailand – October 29, 2025
Hey photographers, nature lovers, and curious explorers! Get ready for a seriously cool, cross-border collab that’s bringing the epic stories of the Himalayas straight to Bangkok.
The Gehendra Dhimal Foundation (GDF) and the awesome folks at Photo Hostel & Photo Cafe are teaming up to present “Through the Wild Lens – Field-tested Lessons from the Himalayas.” Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 1, 2025, starting at 3:30 PM at the Photo Hostel & Photo Cafe in Talad Noi!
Meet the Legend: Om Prakash Yadav
This isn’t just a talk; it’s a launchpad! The event kicks off a long-term partnership between Nepal and Thailand focused on killer creative education, environmental respect, and ethical photography. If you’re a student, a seasoned shooter, or just love the outdoors, you need to be here.
Leading the charge is Om Prakash Yadav, a Nikon School Instructor and one of South Asia’s most respected wildlife photographers. This guy has spent decades in Nepal’s toughest national parks and Himalayan peaks.
What you’ll learn (it’s way more than just settings):
- How to harness natural light like a pro.
- The secrets to predicting animal behavior before you even lift the camera.
- How to make your wildlife shots matter—focusing on conservation and respect.
Om Prakash isn’t just taking photos; he’s capturing endangered species and their fragile homes to support conservation efforts. He’s bringing the field straight to you!
Connect, Create, and Conserve
After Om Prakash shares his gold-mine of knowledge, stick around for a vibrant networking session. You’ll get to rub shoulders with leading photographers, editors, camera brand reps, and key conservationists from Thailand and beyond.
Gautam Dhimal, Chairperson of the GDF, perfectly captures the spirit:
“We believe everything changes when people see the world differently. Art and photography can kickstart real conversations about nature, community, and how we’re all connected. We hope these meet-ups inspire everyone to live a little more mindfully.”
And Om Prakash Yadav adds his personal mission:
“For me, photography is about sharing what I learn and teaching others to see nature with respect. I’ve spent years teaching through Photo Walk Nepal, and this event is the next step in that journey—let’s learn, care, and keep the wild alive, together!“
This whole project is the start of something big—a commitment by GDF and Photo Hostel & Photo Cafe to create a cool, international platform for future workshops, exchange programs, and exhibitions. Big shout-outs to MORPH Magazine and Photo Walk Nepal for supporting ethical creative education!
