Dhaka Metro Rail to Resume Operations on August 17, Skipping Two Damaged Stations

The Dhaka metro rail will resume operations on August 17, nearly a month after it was suspended. However, trains will bypass the Mirpur 10 and Kazipara stations, which were damaged during recent protests.

The interim government’s advisory council announced this decision on Sunday, stating that trains will not stop at these two stations until repairs are completed.

The stations in Mirpur 10 and Kazipara were vandalized during the student movement that led to the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s regime. Metro services were halted on July 18 as students protested for quota reform in public service.
