विश्व बैंकले नोभेल कोरोना भाइरसको प्रभाव न्यूनीकरण गर्न नेपाललाई २९ मिलियन अमेरिकी डलर (३ अर्ब ४३ करोड रुपैयाँ) अनुदान दिने भएको छ। यसअघि विश्वका कोरोना प्रभावित मुलुकलाई आपत्कालीन सहयोग घोषणा गरेको १२ अर्ब अमेरिकी डलरमध्ये विश्व बैंकले नेपाललाई यो रकम उपलब्ध गराउने भएको हो।

यो सहयोग कोरोना भाइरसको सचेतना, रोकथाम पूर्वतयारीका लागि उपयोग गरिनेछ। मंगलबार कोरोनाबाट प्रभावित हुन सक्ने सम्भावित क्षेत्र र आवश्यक पहिल्याउने सम्बन्धमा अर्थ मन्त्रालयमा बैठक बसेको थियो। बैठमा विश्व बैंकका नेपालस्थित देशीय प्रबन्धक फारिस हदाद जेर्भाेस, अर्थ सचिव शिशिरकुमार ढुंगाना र स्वास्थ्य मन्त्रालयका अधिकारीसँग छलफल भएको थियो।

नोभेल कोरोना भाइरस अहिलेसम्म सयभन्दा बढी देशमा फैलिसकेको छ। यसले अर्थतन्त्रमा नकारात्मक प्रभाव सिर्जना गर्न सुरु गरिसकेको परिप्रेक्ष्यमा विश्व बैंकले प्रारम्भिकरूपमा घोषणा गरेको १२ अर्ब डलर आपत्कालीन सहयोग स्वास्थ्य समस्या र आर्थिक प्रभावसँग जुध्न खर्च गरिनेछ। यो सहयोग महामारीको असर न्यूनीकरण गर्न डिजाइन गरिएको हो।
