He defeated UML’s Indradhara Dadu Bista. Bista got only 793 votes. Bista was previously the state MP from the area. As 1,855 votes were cast in that area, 14 votes were invalidated. Earlier, Yogesh Gauchan Thakali of Nepali Congress was elected as a member of the House of Representatives.
